Volunteer Role Descriptions

See below for descriptions of volunteer roles.  

PRE-EVENT VOLUNTEER ROLES

Days/Time determined by the team lead.

Locations in or near Walnut Creek unless otherwise specified. 

*Junior Volunteer (14-15 years) positions available for starred teams.

BOUTIQUE TEAM* -- (Sat, 1/21/23) - help guests find their perfect prom dress or suit at the boutique

DECORATIONS TEAM -- (Th, 2/9/23 and Fri 2/10/23, and any prior planning meetings) - help design/set up event space

FLOWERS TEAM -- (Th, 2/9/23, 2-5pm, Cornerstone Christian Center in Antioch) - make corsages/ boutonnieres from real flowers

GIFTS TEAM* -- (Sun, 2/5/23, 2-4pm, Cornerstone Christian Center in Antioch) - write encouraging note cards and assemble gift bags for the guests

HAIR AND MAKE UP TEAM* -- (Fri, 2/10/23, 12-5pm) - style the guests' hair and do their makeup as they get ready!

VIRTUAL EVENT DELIVERY TEAM -- (Sat, 2/4/23 - Tues, 2/7/23, *Requires driving and a background check - MUST be age 18 or over) - deliver gift bags and crowns/tiaras to our guests attending virtually

PROM EVENT VOLUNTEER ROLES

Friday, Feb 10th, 2023 5-9pm, VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN is 3-4 PM. 

*Junior Volunteer (14-15 years) positions available for starred teams.

**Child (10-13. years) and Junior Volunteer positions available for double starred teams.

ACTIVITIES TEAM* - help with karaoke, photo booths, and any other activities offered for the guests

 

BUDDY - enjoy the prom with a guest! You will be assigned a guest to stay with the whole night to make sure they get to experience all aspects of the prom!

 

COAT CHECK TEAM - check-in coats and other volunteer/guest items as they arrive and checkout items at end of night

 

CROWNING/GIFTS TEAM - give guests their crown/tiara as they enter, then at the end, hand out gift bags

ENTOURAGE TEAM* - cheer and guide those guests that are unable to ride in the limo to the red carpet

FLOWERS TEAM - give guests their corsage/boutonniere

FOOD SERVING TEAM - prep and serve food to the guests

HAIR AND MAKEUP TEAM* - provide hair and makeup touchups at the event

MEDICAL TEAM (EMT, Nurses, MD's, etc) - onsite throughout the event for assistance in emergencies or if buddies need assistance with a guest

MEDICAL THERAPIST TEAM (Occupational/Physical Therapists) - assist guests in/out of limos, restrooms, and be assistance to buddies as needed

PRODUCTION TEAM - help set up and keep running sound/video/lights

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY TEAM (Professional or Enthusiastic Hobbyist) - document the event through video and photo

RED CARPET TEAM** - cheer for the guests as they walk down the red carpet

REGISTRATION TEAM (*ARRIVAL 2pm) - check in and greet volunteers, check in and greet guests

RESPITE ROOM TEAM - hang out with the caregivers and make sure they feel loved and appreciated!

SECURITY TEAM - keep watch that only those that are to be at the event (nametags) are on the premises, assist with any emergencies

SENSORY ROOM TEAM - quiet room for those guests that may get overstimulated (we usually have therapy dogs in this room, so be aware if you have allergies)

SHOE SHINE TEAM - Shine the shoes of our dashing male guests!

SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM* - post photos and live videos to our facebook/instagram/twitter

TRAFFIC TEAM - direct parking and flow of limos
